Melissa Joan Hart had a reputation for being America’s good girl for a long time. Another label that marked most of her life was her rumored romance with Deadpool actor Ryan Reynolds. While Hart isn’t an intensely private person who refuses to speak about her personal affairs, the actress has shied away from directly bringing up the topic of Reynolds during interviews. Hart and Ryan Reynolds met during the shooting of the TV film, Sabrina the Teenage Witch. Hart portrayed the titular character while Reynolds played Seth, her love interest. On the 20th February 2023 episode of the Hey Dude… The 90s Called!, podcast, the actress sat down with David Lascher and Christine Taylor to discuss her dating life back in the day.
The actress said that she first saw Reynolds in the Nickelodeon show, Fifteen, which also starred Chris ‘corky’ Martin. She explained that she dated Martin and had a fling with Reynolds. As per the Hollywood actress:
“I dated Corky and kind of had a little thing with Ryan. I met Corky… in Utah or something at a Nick Takes Over Your School [event], and we started phone dating from Vancouver to Orlando. And then I worked with Ryan Reynolds on the first ‘Sabrina’ movie. The first movie we did, Ryan was in it.”
“We were smitten and cute. He was adorable. He was a really nice guy. He wasn’t, like, the Ryan Reynolds everybody knows these days. You can see, in the clip (that was shown), the crazy hair. He was sweet — he was very sweet.”

“I chased him down, got in front of his car and just kissed him, and then made out with him all night… Then I had to call my boyfriend the next day and explain it. He came to New York to visit me. But I think he wanted something more, but I decided I was going to stick with my boyfriend.”
In her 2013 book, Melissa Explains It All: Tales from My Abnormally Normal Life, the celeb said that the Red Notice actor could have been a good boyfriend and that she should have given him a chance because she didn’t end up with her ex-boyfriend as well. However, that’s all in the past now. Hart is married to Mark Wilkerson and has been since 2003. The couple has 3 children, Mason, Tucker, and Braydon. As for Reynolds, he is married to Blake Lively, and they have 3 daughters, James, Betty, Inez, and one newborn baby. So, it looks like each had their happy ending in a way.
