When the producers and cast confirmed that Spider-Man 4 is already in the works, there was a lot of excitement among fans. The internet was alive with speculation about the plot and the cast. Tom Holland will reprise his role as Spider-Man in the next Spider-Man film, although production has been halted for the time being.
According to sources, the writers of Spider-Man 4 are on strike, and the production process will be paused until they end the strike and return to the writer’s room.
Tom Holland confirms Spider-Man 4 is paused for the time being
As Tom Holland is returning to his role as Spider-Man in the upcoming film Spider-Man 4, all eyes were on him when word leaked that production had been halted. The 27-year-old acknowledged that the making of his upcoming Spider-Man film has been delayed due to the writer’s strike for numerous reasons.
The Uncharted actor made a statement on the strike and how they are working to find a solution to bring the writers back to the team. The 27-year-old actor stated,
“I can’t talk about that, but I can say that we have been having meetings. We’ve put the meetings on pause in solidarity with the writers. There’s been multiple conversations had, but at this point it’s very, very early stages.”
As per reports, the writers are requesting a greater minimum salary, more authors per program, and shorter exclusivity contracts. Last month, the WGA (Writers Guild of America) members went on strike.
Pedro Pascal says they are trying to be supportive of the writers
Pedro Pascal is also said to be in the Spider-Man 4 cast and will play an important role in the film. Pascal also issued a statement addressing the postponement of the upcoming production. According to sources, The Last of Us actor added that the makers of the movie are trying to be supportive of the writers, but whenever the writers are ready, the production will begin. The 48-year-old actor said,
“Are we going to make another movie? Of course, we are. We’re in the process, but the writers strike, nobody is working during the strike. We’re all being supporters, and whenever they get themselves together, we’ll get started.”
According to reports, Spider-Man 4 is not the only film that has been halted by its writers. Following the Writers Guild of America’s strikes, many writers have ceased working on other projects. The WGA members have made it obvious that unless the producers find a solution to their issues, they will not return to typing the scripts for the upcoming films. The writers have also put films like Thunderbolts and Wonder Man on hold.
