Dwayne Johnson is someone who many people look up to for fitness inspiration. He is one of the fitness freaks in Hollywood, who is very particular about maintaining a good physique. In order to adapt to several roles, many a time he had opted for a strict diet and intense workouts. But his love for fitness didn’t begin after he joined Hollywood, as even before that he maintained his physique as a wrestler.
Wrestlers are required to get into good shape by doing intense training before every single match in order to build strength and power. But even after such heavy training by The Rock, why he doesn’t have marked abs like the rest? Well, there is a big reason behind this.
Why Dwayne Johnson Doesn’t Have Marked Abdomen Muscles?
Dwayne Johnson, who goes by the ring name The Rock, debuted in the WWE in the year 1996. He gained success during the early stage of his career and has always dominated the ring. But a single wrestling match injury gave him an abs problem for a lifetime. In a past interview, The Rock explained why, even after such heavy workouts and training, his abs were not clearly visible.
He mentions how social media influencers like to flaunt their abs online. But in his case, he can’t do that even after having five and a half packs or sometimes four and a half. The reason is that he once suffered a severe abdominal injury. It’s no lie that even after facing such a situation, he never skipped his gym day.
The Rock Shares His Abs Injury Story
Dwayne Johnson likes sharing some fitness-related posts on his social media. He has been an inspiration for many over the years. Recently, the Baywatch star shared an image after an intense workout. He mentioned how he had great training sessions at the gym and has raised the bar with hot workouts.
In his recent picture, his abs are a little visible but not fully. Johnson’s past interview revealed what exactly happened at the Wrestling match which cost him his abs.
According to Johnson, during one of his wrestling matches, he tore his abdomen and had to go through emergency surgery.
“But the problem was – which a lot of people don’t know – I tore in a wrestling match, I tore the top of my quad off my pelvis, it went bang, in a wrestling match. And then what that did was that caused a chain reaction and it tore my abdomen wall, so then I had to do a triple hernia emergency surgery, of a tear, a tear, and a tear. So they’re not like perfect abs.”
The Black Adam star has always given his all to get into shape, may it be for a wrestling match or for a character in a movie. It’s also known that his schedule for the gym is six days a week. He is committed to the consistency of workouts to maintain his physique.
