The Terminator actor Arnold Schwarzenegger opened up about the experience when he was ‘coughing and choking’ following a life-threatening heart operation and was on the verge of dying. However, he came back to set and nailed it.
The actor underwent surgery in March 2018 to replace a faulty pulmonary valve in his heart, but open heart surgery was required after doctors discovered internal bleeding. Schwarzenegger came back and subsequently recovered to begin filming Terminator: Dark Fate just four months later.
Arnold Schwarzenegger Played the Deadly Cyborg Role Just After Four Months of His Surgery
Arnold Schwarzenegger revealed that he had emergency open heart surgery just four months before shooting Terminator: Dark Fate after a routine procedure went wrong.
Schwarzenegger explained that thinking about shooting the sixth Terminator movie, got him through and pushed him to recover.
“I can still do that. I can still arrive n*ked,” he boasted.
“That’s what I was shooting for,” he said.
“So, I started declaring little victories. After I did the first 500 steps with the walker, I declared victory. After I had an appetite again to eat normal, I declared victory. I was home in no time and was back to the gym in no time. Most people baby themselves too much after surgery.”
He was more concerned about keeping to the filming schedule for Dark Fate, the sixth installment in the Terminator franchise.
