Emily Blunt and John Krasinski have proved to be quite the Hollywood power couple following their deeply personal horror flick A Quiet Place. Although the real-life duo managed to create epic onscreen chemistry while filming their 2018 movie, Blunt revealed that she had no intentions of reprising her role.
During an interview, Emily Blunt reflected upon her five-month rule between projects, which evidently kept her away from appearing in A Quiet Place. However, the actress mentioned breaking her own rule out of love for her husband’s work, while John Krasinski simply feared all the wrong reasons for Blunt to accept the role.
Emily Blunt Broke Her Own Rule For A Quiet Place
Ever since John Krasinski and Emily Blunt got together most unexpectedly, the duo promised to keep their career thriving, but separately. Thus, the 43-year-old American actor was focused on his high-concept thriller A Quiet Place, while Blunt was occupied with her Disney movie, Mary Poppins Returns.
However, surprisingly, things changed for the 40-year-old British actress, when John Krasinski started penning the script for A Quiet Place, keeping Blunt in mind, for the lead role. Thereafter, Emily Blunt read the script and grabbed the opportunity by breaking her own rules out of sheer love for the project.
Appearing for an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the Oppenheimer actress revealed, “I have a minimum of a five-month rule between projects, other than A Quiet Place. I broke the rule for him and him alone.” Well, rules are meant to be broken for special exceptions, and Krasinski’s A Quiet Place was no doubt one.
John Krasinski Misunderstood Love For Obligation
The 2018 movie A Quiet Place, although disguised as a horror flick, is simply a heartfelt story about a family’s survival. Placing the themes magically, John Krasinski added a nice touch to the movie, for the audiences to bring home. Made with a small budget of $17M, the movie bombed the box office with a staggering $341M collection worldwide.
While Krasinski’s A Quiet Place turned into a blockbuster featuring Emily Blunt, who broke her own rules for the movie; the 43-year-old actor was primarily hesitant and afraid to ask his wife to join the film. The Office actor feared that Blunt might say “yes” out of mere obligation, rather than actual desire.
Nonetheless, eventually, after Emily Blunt offered her service out of love rather than obligation, John Krasinski turned his vision into an epic thriller. “There’s a large fraction of stress that is taken out by someone who’s so supportive.” the 43-year-old reflected. Thus, finding the perfect partner for the movie, and in life Krasinski and Blunt stunned the world with their work.
