Where actors are very particular about the choice of script, Harrison Ford agreed to be a part of a show without reading its script. Last year, Ford appeared in the Yellowstone prequel, 1923. During an interview, Ford revealed that for this show, he agreed to act in it without even knowing its plot.
Later, the actor admitted that he opted for the series because he wanted to work with Helen Mirren again. Ford and Mirren previously worked together in the 1986 film The Mosquito Coast.
Harrison Ford didn’t bother to read the script for the show
American actor Harrison Ford has appeared in some hit films throughout his career. Being experienced in his niche, the actor works on his terms. Last year, the actor appeared in a prequel to Yellowstone, 1923. The actor played the role of Jacob Dutton, the patriarch of the family. His role was well acclaimed by critics; however, the actor wasn’t aware of his role in the first place.
Previously, during an interview, the actor talked about how he ended up being a part of the show. Ford shared a very interesting story in which he said that he agreed to be a part of the show without even knowing about its plot. The actor said,
“I based my decision on personal meetings with (Yellowstone co-creator) Taylor Sheridan.”
The actor further shared that there was no script available at the time when he agreed to sign the show. However, managing to get the script wouldn’t have been a tough task if he was really interested in it. Ford later admitted the actual reason he was so enticed to do the show.
The actor revealed that he wanted to be a part of the show because he wanted to reunite with Helen Mirren. Earlier, Mirren and Ford appeared together in the film The Mosquito Coast and played the roles of a married couple. The actor shared that the moment he knew that Mirren was going to be a part of the film, he was already ready to do the series.

During the same interview, Ford shared that his meeting with Sheridan took place around three to four weeks before the script was written. The actor recalled,
“He (Taylor Sheridan) talked me through what his ideas were, and I was impressed by his articulation of his ambition and his sincerity.”
The actor further revealed that when he received the script, he was intrigued by it. The actor shared that the role offered to him for the series was very different from what he has played until yet. And he is always game for new roles.
