Chris Evans and Ana de Armas seem to be on the path of consolidating themselves as the quintessential duo of Hollywood. But having done only three films together, with their forthcoming venture Ghosted being their latest collaboration, the two have a long way to go before they establish themselves as the ‘iconic duo’ both on and off the screen. Evans and Scarlett Johansson, on the other hand, have known each other for over ten years now and their friendship has withstood the test of time almost effortlessly. But while fans have been besotted with their dynamic, de Armas might be more on the envious side of sentiments when it comes to the MCU duo.
Ana de Armas & Chris Evans: A Friendship in Bloom
Ana de Armas and Chris Evans‘ first alliance dates back to Rian Johnson’s Knives Out (2019), after which they shared the screen again in the Russo brothers’ thriller titled The Gray Man (2022). Now, the two have reunited for their third project together, Ghosted, a romantic action comedy that aired on Apple TV+ today. So, given their scanty work record, de Armas and Evans’ still-blossoming friendship would pale in comparison to the latter’s prolific and heartwarming relationship with Scarlett Johansson. And the Blonde actress might just be jealous of not having that for herself.
As the Ghosted stars took the WIRED Autocomplete Interview, The Avengers actor briefly talked about his equation with Johansson in response to a question about their history. “We’ve known each other for a long time and she’s one of my dearest friends,” Evans, 41 said. But knowing that her co-star has done eight films with Johansson and merely three with her didn’t sit right with de Armas. “This, I’m not liking this,” the Deep Water actress retorted. “What are we trying to say here?”
“Okay, I still have a few more to go,” she quipped about the number of films she needs to do with Evans to beat his score with the Lost in Translation star. Looks like someone’s awfully competitive.

Chris Evans & Scarlett Johansson’s History Spans A Decade
Evans and Johansson are those stars who’re not only in tandem on the screen but are also close friends behind the cameras. And why wouldn’t they be? The pair first met each other while working on Brian Robbins’ comedy/crime Perfect Score (2004) when they were just naive teenagers. And all the numerous Marvel projects they’ve united forces on only solidified their bond. “Chris and I, we just laugh so much together,” ScarJo said of her friendship with Evans during an appearance on SiriusXM. “We could talk for hours.”
Johansson has always accentuated her role as the classic “big sister” in relation to the Fantastic Four actor, which ironically enough symbolizes the brotherly bond Natasha Romanoff shares with Steve Rogers in the MCU. “Even though Chris is a couple of years older than me, I think we sort of have that same dynamic,” the Lucy star remarked.
Building such emotionally sound and meaningful friendships takes time, especially in an industry as tumultuous as this one. So, de Armas might be waiting around for a while before her equation with Evans develops into something akin to what the latter has with ScarJo.
Ghosted can be streamed on Apple Tv+.
