“I am going to come on set and watch you guys kiss”: Daniel Radcliffe Was a Complete D*CK to Emma Watson before Her Uncomfortable Scene in Harry Potter

"I am going to come on set and watch you guys kiss": Daniel Radcliffe Was a Complete D*CK to Emma Watson before Her Uncomfortable Scene in Harry Potter

Daniel Radcliffe may have garnered praise for speaking out against J.K. Rowlings’s transphobic comments, but the actor star himself acted a bit of a pervert back in time. While her co-star, Emma Watson, who starred as Hermione Granger in the famous Harry Potter film series, narrated the awkwardness and inconvenience of kissing Rupert Grint during one scene, Radcliffe made things, even more, worst for the actress, something he regretted later.

Emma Watson & Rupert Grint Felt Horrific and Incestuous

Harry Potter’s Hermione Granger (Emma Watson) and Ron Weasley (Rupert Grint) were just teenagers when they shared their first on-screen kiss, perhaps, the first kiss of their lives. But again, it wasn’t a very memorable experience for either. While Watson termed it as “horrifying” and “incestuous”, Grint claimed that he kind of “blacked out” during the moment.

During the 20th anniversary reunion, Return to Hogwarts, Emma Watson recalled the horrific moment of kissing Rupert Grint in the final installment, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II. As the three co-stars sat together in Gryffindor Common Room, they relived the moment when Daniel Radcliffe only made things worst for his pals.

Emma Watson said: “Obviously, us kissing was the most horrifying thing either of us has ever had to go through.”  On the other hand, David Yates, credited for directing the final four installments, expressed that preparing Watson and Grint for the scene was like readying them for a “major sports event,” but he made sure they were both comfortable.

Watson’s kiss with Grint was supposed to be a “dramatic makeout” but neither of them could hold their laughter. “I was really scared we were never going to get it because we just couldn’t take it seriously,” she added. Well, the lady surely didn’t feel comfortable as she termed her kiss with Grint as “incestuous”.

Daniel Radcliffe Admitted To Being A Jerk To His Co-stars

Daniel Radcliffe, who plays the good boy throughout the entire franchise, can sometimes be a bit of a jerk at times. While Radcliffe’s character was just 17 during the filming of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II, the What If? actor was a grown-up 22-year-old man. However, he didn’t act like one when the alleged kissing scene took place.

Interestingly, during the epilogue, though, Radcliffe portrayed Harry Potter as a 36-year-old in the last moments of the movie franchise. Coming back to the kissing scene, the 33-year-old actor admitted to being an absolute “d*ck” to his co-stars. He said:

“I did not make this better because I have been told significantly that I was just being an absolute d**k about this and being like, ‘I am going to come on set and watch you guys kiss.”

Emma Watson, on the other hand, continued to struggle with her feelings and termed it an “actual horror show”. She revealed that kissing Rupert Grint was the hardest thing she ever had to do, and it just felt wrong, because, to Watson, her Harry Potter co-stars were more like siblings. The three continue to remain a “family”, as Watson, Grint, and Radcliffe like to call themselves.
