“I always pitched this to everyone”: Johnny Depp Fans Rejoice As James Wan Subtly Hints He Marginalized Amber Heard In Aquaman 2

“I always pitched this to everyone”: Johnny Depp Fans Rejoice As James Wan Subtly Hints He Marginalized Amber Heard In Aquaman 2

During the time when Warner Bros. Discovery was in disarray and the DCEU was failing in front of everyone’s eyes, James Wan brought Aquaman to the world, and it seemingly flipped the script for the struggling franchise entirely. Becoming an overnight success, the film somewhat stabilized the franchise for the near future.

And now, as the DCU seeks to plant itself as the next big thing in the superhero genre of films, the new franchise brings us the second part of the story with director Wan’s Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom. But this time, Johnny Depp fans have a reason to rejoice, and it has everything to do with Amber Heard.

While the start to the DCEU may have been astronomical, the success wasn’t sustained, resulting in a steady decline in the appeal of the franchise, and then 2018’s Aquaman happened. The film, which was being hyped up to be one of the best in a long time actually delivered on the excitement, and grossed over $1.1 Billion and became the highest-grossing DCEU film of all time. And now, the legacy has a chance to continue as the DCU gears up for Jason Momoa‘s Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom, which also happens to be a film that Johnny Depp fans are looking forward to.

In a recent interview with EW, James Wan, the prolific director who is the vision behind the upcoming film talked about what the fans could expect from the movie when it hits the cinemas. Here, he also talked about how the film would change perspective and focus on the relationship between Arthur Curry and his half-brother Prince Orm, something that was planned way back in the past. Considering the infamous legal dispute between the lead actress Amber Heard and her ex-husband, this seems like a welcome coincidence.

“I always pitched this to everyone from the get-go. The first Aquaman was Arthur and Mera‘s journey. The second movie was always going to be Arthur and Orm.So, the first was a romance action-adventure movie, the second one is a bromance action-adventure movie. We’ll leave it at that.”

While this might be a fresh outlook on the superhero’s story, what has got the fans of Johnny Depp excited is the borderline exclusion of the actress from the film, and they cannot contain themselves.

Now, all that is left to do is to wait and see how the fans receive the film and if it will be able to relive the success story that it was before.

Continuing the story from 2018’s original film, Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom will bring back Jason Momoa as the titular superhero of the Justice League. While there may not be too many details to share with the public as of now, director James Wan’s comment about the film being a bromance definitely is exciting.

As for what we do know, it seems like the kingdom of Atlantis is on the verge of falling in danger, and to save his people from both land and water, Arthur would have to ally himself with an unlikely individual to protect the entire world.
