Hugh Grant’s take on his former co-star Sandra Bullock over making tea
The Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery actor talked about his former co-star Sandra Bullock when he was promoting his movie Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves. The actor shared the perfect way of making tea and said that water should be piping hot when poured over the tea bag. He added that he had to teach this to Sandra Bullock, as she used to make terrible and undrinkable cups of tea for him.
The duo worked together on Two Weeks Notice in 2002.
Hugh Grant shared in an interview with Female, that he was eager to work with Sandra Bullock in the 90’s era. The duo finally collaborated on the film Two Weeks Notice. He shared,
“I don’t know why she’d want to work with ME, but I wanted to work with her just because I’ve always admired her, though she’s the girl, queen of that kind of stuff. She’s a brilliant comedienne, sort of gorgeous and charming and I just thought that could work and I think it helps with the chemistry a little bit if there’s a part of you that quite fancies the person you’re doing it with.”
While the film was quite successful with $199 million grossing worldwide, he had turned down a major film for the one with Bullock.
Huge Grant turned down a role in Harry Potter to work with Sandra Bullock
Reportedly, he was offered the role of wizard Gilderoy Lockhart in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. The film was a massive box office hit and went on to make approximately $1 billion at the box office.
Hugh Grant‘s agent Karin Smith revealed to Slash Film,
“Sadly Hugh had to turn down the part because he’s committed to doing a movie with Sandra Bullock next February.”
The role went to actor Kenneth Branagh.
The Love Actually actor shared that it was not the first time he had turned down a script, as it was a common theme in his career. He said,
“It means I turn down 990 scripts out of a thousand, then when you find one that’s good you grab it with both hands. After that you keep working at it, keep bullying the writer and make sure it’s as good as it possibly can be.”
Grant shared that it was an accomplishment to be considered for the role in the Harry Potter franchise.
