Despite keeping cherished characters like M, Q, and Miss Moneypenny intact, the Bond films didn’t go as far as Bourne in making the spy turn against MI6. Understandably, fans were deeply attached to these classic figures and couldn’t bear to see Bond as a rogue agent. However, the Daniel Craig era of Bond did take several elements from the Bourne series, giving the franchise a fresh and thrilling twist.

Paul Greengrass, the genius director of three Bourne films, just couldn’t resist praising Matt Damon’s epic success as Jason Bourne. He saw it as a “wake-up call” for the James Bond team and gave them a big round of applause for how they skillfully balanced keeping the classic Bond vibe while adding a cool and modern touch inspired by Bourne.
