Sharon Stone has always been a brave and outspoken actress. Widely recognized for her role in movies like The Quick and the Dead and Total Recall, the Oscar-winner is known to give her all when it comes to portraying a character. Stone is renowned for her amazing acting skills and caliber, and the 65-year-old actress has always been friendly and kind towards her on-screen and off-screen co-stars.
This includes Halle Berry as well, who co-starred with Stone in the epic Warner Bros. $100M disaster Catwoman, which also ignited the latter’s passion for Berry as an actress and made her want to have an intimate relationship on-screen with her co-star.
Sharon Stone Wanted To Have An Intimate Relationship With Halle Berry In Catwoman
Sharon Stone and best friend Halle Berry both are listed among the best actresses in Hollywood of all time. And the fact that Berry was already finalized for the $100M movie Catwoman made the unsure Stone sure about accepting the movie’s offer for playing the villain. Recalling the time she found out about her best friend being in the same movie as her, the Total Recall actress said,
“So, I saw this part and I thought that this was sort of like what I had in mind. But I was glad that a woman, this Oscar-winning, powerful actress, wanted me to work opposite her. I thought that was really the thing. That I could work opposite a woman, which I’m not used to doing, and that that would be interesting to me.”
Furthermore, Stone also let her desire to be intimate with Berry on the sets be known to everyone, and even complained about why her desperate wish couldn’t be fulfilled blaming it on America’s unfavorable-for-lesbian political environment at the time, saying,
“Halle’s so beautiful and I wanted to kiss her. I said, ‘How can you have us in the movie and not have us kiss? That’s such a waste.’ That’s what you get for having George Bush as president.”
Unfortunately for Sharon Stone, even cursing out the president couldn’t grant her her desperate wish to get steamy with Halle Berry in the $100 million WB disaster.
Epic Failure Catwoman Helped Sharon-Stone’s Co-Star Halle Berry With Her Career
While the $100M movie Catwoman starring both Sharon Stone and Halle Berry was an epic failure, Halle Berry revealed how it wasn’t a failure to her as she learned a lot of valuable things from the movie. Recalling how the disastrous movie turned out to be for her, the 56-year-old actress said,
“Everybody around me said, ‘Girl, don’t do it. It’s going to be the death of you. It’s going to end your career.’ But guess what I did? I followed my intuition and I did a movie called Catwoman and it bombed miserably. While it failed for most people, it wasn’t a failure for me because I met so many interesting people that I wouldn’t have met otherwise, I learned two forms of martial arts and I learned what not to do.”
Although it wasn’t the same for her co-star Sharon Stone, Halle Berry also mentioned how the epic flop movie even helped her make a s***-load of money that changed her life.’
You can watch Catwoman on Netflix.
