‘Hope we have lawyers in our fandom’: WB Studios Facing Major Lawsuit Because They Abruptly Fired Henry Cavill as Superman and Left Him Without Any Major Roles, Hurting His Career?

Henry Cavill’s fans are back at it again, and this time they want to file a lawsuit against Warner Bros. Discovery for false advertising, for showing Henry Cavill as Superman in the post-credits scene of Black Adam. James Gunn was appointed as the Co-CEO of DC Studios and he took the bold decision of rebooting the entire universe, as well as letting go of some key figures of Zack Snyder’s DCEU, including Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill.

On the one hand, fans were ecstatic about the reboot of the franchise that will give them films and series which they would enjoy, while on the other hand, they were furious for letting go of figures who were doing their roles perfectly; and the fans have been calling out James Gunn for misleading the fans.

Why are some fans trying to sue Warner Bros.?

The fans of Zack Snyder and Henry Cavill are trying to sue Warner Bros. because apparently the fans were given “false hopes” of Man of Steel 2 starring Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/ Superman, and he also made a cameo in Black Adam‘s post-credit scene which made the fans hopeful, but after Gunn’s announcement that The Witcher actor will not reprise his role as Superman, fans were furious and decided to file a lawsuit against them.

A fan was wondering if they have lawyers in the fandom, because the actor is not thinking about filing a case against the studio, and if the lawyers can advise them on how the fans can provide evidence for a winnable case.

And soon there was a tweet stating that some fans tried to file a lawsuit for a misleading movie trailer, and the DC fans must do the same.

A fan stated that they’d be surprised if someone would be crazy enough to take legal action.

A fan stated that it was not Gunn’s fault that Henry Cavill appeared as Superman because he was not the Co-CEO of DC Studios back then.

However, the fan showed a screenshot of Gunn’s tweet where he states that he was hired six months ago.

A fan stated that it was wrong from the end of the fans because the actor who played the role is not launching a legal challenge against DC Studios and Warner Bros. It is a loss but we must move on.

It will be intriguing to see how things turn out in the end because, each day some fans of the Snyderverse and Man of Steel, are not happy with the change, and they are trying to do everything in their capacity to create obstacles for the franchise, instead of moving on.

Why are Fans Furious about a ‘Misleading’ Cameo?

Henry Cavill appeared as Superman for a quick cameo, and fans were sure that they see more of the actor in another sequel, and DC is partly at fault because they set a false expectation to the fans with the release of Snyder’s Cut Justice League.

The fans had an online campaign for releasing Snyder’s Cut, and they were utterly disgusted by the choppy CGI and poor plot of Justice League directed by Joss Whedon. However, DC cleared out that Snyder’s Justice League was a one-time thing and the fans should not expect any more films set in Zack Snyder’s universe.

Moreover, James Gunn clearly stated that he will be scrapping the Snyderverse for a better experience for the fans. However, it is difficult to say that the fans of the Snyderverse could win the lawsuit just because of a post-credit scene, as it doesn’t promise anything about the future projects of the studio.
