To be specific, Arnold Schwarzenegger is one of the biggest names in Hollywood and action films. He is not only a talented actor but also a talented writer. He has written numerous articles on Bodybuilding along with an autobiography of sorts titled Total Recall: My Unbelievably True Life Story. When he talks about his life and journey in detail, these accounts are transparent and candid pieces from his life.
Schwarzenegger had a tough childhood and struggled his way to the top of Hollywood. He began as a bodybuilder making his way into the big screens and then he tried his hands at business and politics. Today man is everywhere doing everything.
Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Mother thought he was gay
During the promotion of his book Total Recall, the actor did several interviews sharing anecdotes from his life. One of these anecdotes is when his father (Gustav Schwarzenegger) beat him up thinking he is gay. The writer shares with 60 Minutes,
“He ran after me with a belt and beat me. I don’t know if mum thought I was gay, or if she just thought there was something off. And ‘let’s catch it early. She asked the doctor, ‘Can you help me? I don’t know if there’s something wrong with my son because his wall is full of naked men. All of Arnold’s friends have pictures of girls above their beds. And Arnold has no girls.'”
This was probably funny in 2016, today it throws light on the stereotypes men were subjected to at that time. Schwarzenegger has been lifting weights since he was 15 and won Mr. Universe when he was 20 and other such competitions when he was young. Naturally, he would surround himself with people he looked up to which explains the poster of men in his room. He continues to have a strained relationship with his mother, and his relationship with his father was not healthy as well.
Arnold Schwarzenegger cheated on his wife Maria Shriver
The interview prompted him to admit his mistakes in his married life. The actor humbly apologized for his actions and the pain it has caused many. He admitted to cheating on his wife and how much he regrets it,
“I had others. I did feel bad about it. They were mistakes. This is my failure. My screw-ups. It’s something that’s between Maria and me. She knew. I’m not perfect.”
The Terminator star had a son outside of his marriage, and his existence came to light when his wife Maria Shriver divorced him. Apart from that he also had an affair with Hollywood star Brigitte Nielsen.
