With the recent release of the outgoing DCEU’s The Flash, fans were left disappointed and unsatisfied with everything that the film had to offer. With DC Films CEO James Gunn hyping the film beyond the limits, fans were excited to finally witness something truly exceptional since the old days of the now-obsolete franchise.
And thus, the end of a franchise was not what the fans hoped for. Therefore, there is a lot of doubt after the recent release of what people can expect from the newly-forming DCU under James Gunn and Peter Safran. And in that doubt, many fans have turned to a savior from the past that can be the last hope for a dying franchise.
Fans Want Christian Bale To Return To DC As The Dark Knight
While the recent situation that DC is facing may be dire, the old times were when superheroes and supervillains from DC Comics were thriving, and there is no better example of this than Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne in the iconic The Dark Knight trilogy created by Christopher Nolan. To this day, the series is considered to be one of, if not the most iconic and impactful superhero film franchises in the world. And it seems like fans are counting on Bale to return from the past and save the present.

After both the commercial and critical performance of The Flash, fans are skeptical of what the DCU has in store for them, especially considering the hollow promises made by James Gunn about the recent film. Therefore, people are now demanding that Bale returns as The Dark Knight to save DC Films from potential ruin.
This demand seems to be gaining momentum as many others on Twitter have the same reaction to this post.
While the chances of this happening may be slim, it’s still nonetheless a fact that the return of Bale and Nolan for another Batman film would definitely do wonders for the DCU.

Why Was The Dark Knight Trilogy Such An Iconic Series?
While there may have been several attempts to create a Batman that would have an impact on the audience in the past, The Dark Knight Trilogy was the series that made the caped crusader such a beloved character in the 21st century. Not only did the grounded storyline give the audience a superhero that they could connect with, but the exceptional direction of Christopher Nolan gave the film the artistic narration that no other movie was able to do before.
