Dwayne Johnson Shares His Food Bills Are Pretty High

Dwayne Johnson shared how he was touched when he received a letter from Lorraine Angelakos, a high school senior at Pompano Beach High School, asking him to be the commencement speaker for her class. Johnson read from Angelakos’s letter, in which she offered to fundraise to cover his speaking fee, including travel and food expenses. Responding to this, the Fast Five star marked that his food bills are not that affordable. However, the superstar expressed his genuine appreciation and willingness to speak even for free, but the COVID-19 pandemic prevented him from doing so.

“I don’t know, Lorraine. My food bill is really high. I don’t know if you guys can afford that. Lorraine, I would have done this for free. I would’ve traveled around the world twice just to come and speak to you guys at graduation. Had you guys had a normal graduation, had we been under different circumstances, had you guys had an actual graduation, I would have been there.”

Dwayne Johnson Accepted $7 From A High Schooler 

Lorraine Angelakos included $7 as a down payment for Johnson’s services, referencing the importance of the symbolic amount in the Tooth Fairy star’s life. Johnson, acknowledging the significance of the gesture, held up the $7 and expressed his gratitude. In a heartfelt video, he addressed Angelakos and all high school seniors, recognizing them as empathetic and compassionate leaders who will shape a better future.  

“Lorraine, you and your fellow graduates at Pompano Beach High school and across our country and around the world for that matter, you are our empathetic, compassionate leaders who are going to lead us, who are going to be the ones responsible for answering the questions that we, at this time, us adults, us responsible, compassionate adults are having a little challenging time right now answering. You guys are going to be the ones who are going to answer all those questions because you guys are going to be the ones to make sure that our world is enjoying normalized equality. You guys are the ones who are going to normalize quality.”
