Zack Snyder has been accredited with a lot of fine masterpieces he has helped create over the years but is possibly best remembered for his work in the early stages of the DC Universe. He is responsible for creating what is popularly known as the Snyderverse, featuring characters who appeared in what might be his most popular release, Zack Snyder’s Justice League (2021), which is the director’s cut of the original movie, Justice League (2017).
Snyder is not just an able director and an absolute wizard when it comes to dreaming up new plot twists in popular franchises to keep fans guessing, but is also apparently quite the workaholic. His work ethic and dedication on set, coupled with his pleasant mannerisms on-set, have earned him the highest praise from the star of his latest release Rebel Moon (2023), Corey Stoll.
Zack Snyder has earned the ultimate praise from his crew at Rebel Moon
House of Cards (2013) star Corey Stoll is also playing a significant role in Snyder’s most recent project, Rebel Moon. The movie is set in the sci-fi genre and if Snyder’s previous films are anything to go by, fans of the genre are in for a treat. Stoll, who recently featured in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (2023), had only the best things to say about director Snyder and his attitude on the set.
“He is there in the trenches with everybody. As soon as you walk onto his set, you get a sense that everybody, the cast and the crew, would go to the ends of the earth for him because he’s there covered in dust, 110 degrees in the desert, working these crazy hours with a smile on his face and so it really is a joy to see something on that scale, working on that scale, but with this sense of playfulness and enthusiasm that he has.” says Stoll.
Stoll’s comments about Zack Snyder and his work ethic, and how he manages to keep a smile on even during the most grueling of work hours, are not flat praises. Another Rebel Moon star, Cleopatra Coleman, also said similar positive things about the director. Obviously, the comment made by Stoll that the cast and the crew wouldn’t mind going to “the ends of the earth for him [Snyder]” was on-point.
Rebel Moon might be significant for Zack Snyder in the long run
Snyder has high expectations to keep. His success as DC director and the creation of the Justice League, which is a direct parallel to rival Marvel’s Avengers, brought the director heady praise. His recent project, Rebel Moon, is touted to become Netflix’s next big franchise. Or at least, that is what Snyder hopefuls would like to believe after the charismatic director successfully established the Army of the Dead (2021-present) franchise.
Another franchise can be expected to blossom out of Rebel Moon, perhaps. After all, the genre is no stranger to the director. The movie is already drawing comparisons with George Lucas’ hallowed franchise, Star Wars (1977-present), which has legions of generational fans. If anyone can possibly recreate another one of those massively successful sci-fi franchises, it’s probably Snyder.
