Henry Cavill’s position as Superman came tumbling down almost overnight. James Gunn’s decision to bring about an entirely new era for the hero changed a lot of things in the DC Universe. With Superman: Legacy being penned down by the co-CEO himself, there is a lot relying on the movie itself. Due to the unity presented by Cavill’s fans, the movie might as well define what the future of the franchise would look like.
Although there has yet to be a decision made about who would be taking over the iconic role, rumors have been floating around for quite some time now. Some of these rumors even included the involvement of Harris Dickinson in the talks about playing Clark Kent in Superman: Legacy.

Is Harris Dickinson Playing Superman Instead Of Henry Cavill?
Henry Cavill‘s reign as Superman ended months prior and the hunt for a replacement has been ongoing since. This decision will determine a lot of what the future of the DCU would look like as the fans are all keen on learning just how the franchise would be paced. The decisions made with regard to casting and script writing for Superman: Legacy will essentially prove to be more important than any other DCU project so far.
Rumors pertaining to Harris Dickinson taking over as the iconic character had been going out and about for quite a while now. This made fans wonder as to whether or not the actor was actually playing Clark Kent or not. However, these rumors have since been debunked, narrowing the scenario down to simply the fact that the actor is on good terms with Warner Bros. Discovery and can get the part if he tries for it. Furthermore, he is a well-known actor liked by many people. Whether or not the casting has been finalized is still unknown.
What Is James Gunn’s Vision For Superman?
James Gunn has been very focused on making his passion project. He already talked about just how important the movie is for him and how he understands the responsibility that comes with Superman.
“The next Superman has to be someone who has all the humanity that Superman has but he’s also an alien,” Gunn added. “It’s gotta be somebody who has the kindness and the compassion that Superman has and be somebody who you want to give a hug.”
For his version of Clark Kent, he is looking primarily for a symbol of hope. A being so tied with humanity and the love it provides that his Kryptonian side merges with his personality almost perfectly.
