Tom Hardy Was The First Choice For Wolverine’s Role!

Although Hugh Jackman nailed the role of the Adamantium claw-wielding mutant, it seems that director Matthew Vaughn was more impressed by The Dark Knight Rises actor Tom Hardy. Talking about the 2011 movie X-Men: First Class, the reboot-turned-prequel featured Jackman’s version of Wolverine in a cameo.

Although it was just a mere cameo, Matthew Vaughn wanted desperately to fill the role with Hardy. The director did not get his wish fulfilled since the studios had a storyline to maintain, the Kingsman director stated that it would have been truly awesome if the cameo had been given to the Mad Max: Fury Road actor.

“Well, he’s got older now, but I would say Tom Hardy would have…been awesome. I think Taron [Egerton] could do it in his sleep. Aaron Taylor-Johnson could do it as well.  I mean, I think Aaron or Taron would be my first two choices could do it really well.”

Well, it would indeed look awesome if Hardy would star as Wolverine in the near future. However, the case seems unlikely since Hugh Jackman is already returning for the role alongside Ryan Reynolds in Deadpool 3.

Tom Hardy has been loved by people around the world for his peculiar accents and grunts that he uses throughout his projects. This, however, turned into an irritating game for the viewers since they were not able to understand what Tom Hardy was saying!

Well, it is not Hardy’s fault that he almost always has a mask around his face. With roles like Bane in The Dark Knight Rises and Max in Mad Max: Fury Road, the actor had to struggle with a few simple words and grunts throughout the movies. It was the role of Alfie Solomons however that took the cake since his accent in Peaky Blinders was barely understandable by the people.

According to a list created by Preply, Peaky Blinders was voted as the top most difficult series to comprehend owing to the Birmingham and Alfie Solomon’s accents. The name of Tom Hardy was thrown multiple times as his character was voted as one of the most difficult characters to interpret and understand in Peaky Blinders.

The actor is currently attached to 5 other upcoming projects, one of which is Venom 3 and another is a sequel to Mad Max: Fury Road titled Mad Max: The Wasteland.
