George R.R. Martin is a prominent author with numerous best sellers under his name. The writer is mostly associated with the A Song of Ice and Fire novels, which inspired HBO’s superhit show, Game of Thrones. It also laid the foundation for another popular show, House of the Dragon, which has been currently renewed for season 2. The author is also part of projects including the Game of Thrones spinoff A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight.
The prestigious author has recently become the subject of massive trolling on social media as he extended his unequivocal support to WGA. Twitter fans called him out for spending more than a decade it writing The Winds of Winter.

Game of Thrones author George R.R. Martin extends support to WGA Strike
The proficient author of Kit Harington and Emilia Clarke‘s series, George R.R. Martin revealed in a blog post on Monday that the writers’ room has paused for A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight. He wrote,
“I am not in LA, so I cannot walk a picket line as I did in 1988, but I want to go on the record with my full and complete and unequivocal support of my Guild.”
“How long will the strike last? No idea. Maybe the AMPTP members will come to their senses tomorrow and offer some meaningful concessions, and the whole thing can be wrapped up next week. I would not bet the ranch on that, however. The issues are more important, and I have never seen the Guild so united as it is now.”
The author also gave an update on his long impending novel, The Winds of Winter, originally dated 2014. He told his fans,
“Some of you, I fear, maybe having anxiety attacks just now, on the mistaken assumption that this strike affects ‘Winds of Winter.’ You can relax.”
Martin assured that his project is unaffected by the strike and that his work is going on smoothly.
Fans troll Game of Thrones author George R.R. Martin for 12 years delay
Within hours of the update given by author George R.R. Martin, the fans of GOT have flocked to social media to express their angst over the delay of Winds of Winter. They are trolling the author for taking more than 12 years for his project The Winds of Winter, yet support the WGA strike.
Martin wrote in his blog,
“The WGA is a union of film and television writers. It has nothing to do with novels, short stories, or any other form of prose fiction, comic books, graphic novels, nor stage plays, nor the editing of collections and anthologies. I have on-going projects in all those areas, and that work continues unabated. And ‘Winds’ continues to be priority number one.”
The Winds of Winter is the sixth novel in the popular epic fantasy series A Song of Ice and Fire by writer, George R. R. Martin. He believes that the last two volumes of the series will comprise a total of more than 3,000 manuscript pages.
