Some gaming franchises are known for hiring big names, and Call of Duty is one such franchise. Kit Harington, best known as Jon Snow from Game of Thrones, performed the role of the main antagonist in 2016’s Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. Apart from Harington, several other famous actors have appeared in Call of Duty games over the years. These include, but aren’t limited to, Idris Elba, Gary Oldman, Helena Bonham Carter, and Sam Worthington.

Kit Harington on his role in Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare

In Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, actor Kit Harington plays the role of Admiral Salen Koch, the antagonist of the game. Speaking on the character he portrays, Harington said:

“My take on Admiral Koch is he has an element of the dictator about him. He’s an invading commander; he’s someone who wants to control the whole race of people and feels that he’s entitled to do that. He’s also not afraid of death. That makes him incredibly terrifying. He’s a madman; I found that very fun to play.”

Interestingly, this wasn’t Harington’s first appearance in a video game, having previously appeared in Telltale’s Game of Thrones in 2015. However, it was his first appearance in a Call of Duty game, and also the first time he provided motion capture for a game. Commenting on that process, Harington said:

“This felt quite theatrical to me. It’s something I would definitely, definitely do again. I found it freeing. It was a lot of fun.”

Harington also declared himself a “space freak” and said he was drawn to the role as he had never played a villain before that point. Notably, the character of Salen Koch in Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is very different from Jon Snow from Game of Thrones.
