Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth are among several superstar couples who had made the headlines repeatedly when they were together. Cyrus and Hemsworth had met on the sets of The Lost Song (2009) and had begun dating shortly afterward. They broke up for the first time in August 2010, got back together hurriedly, and this was on and off till 2012 when they got engaged. The engagement got called off too, and then they got re-engaged, before finally marrying in 2018.
The two eventually separated for good shortly thereafter, and have since moved on to different things in life. Cyrus is currently in a relationship with musician Maxx Morando. The release of her recent single, Flowers, have however strained affairs. Fans draw parallels between the song and her relationship with Hemsworth, and Morando himself apparently isn’t pleased to see Miley Cyrus fixated on her ex-husband. Hemsworth is now suing his ex-wife for defamation.
Flowers bloom for Miley Cyrus
The new single, Flowers, has been breaking records left and right for Miley Cyrus. The song hit the record for most streams ever on Spotify, crossing the 100-million mark, beating Korean boy band BTS’ Butter. Cyrus’ self-love anthem came out on Hemsworth’s birthday – which seems to provide enough for fans to base their own imaginations upon.
Morando has apparently issued an ultimatum to Cyrus to stop obsessing over her ex-husband, according to a source. At the same time, while the source said that Cyrus has “no remorse, no regret” about her previous relationship with Hemsworth, her current partner wasn’t convinced. Cyrus’ relationship problems just don’t seem to go away.
Liam Hemsworth isn’t impressed, understandably
Liam Hemsworth is in line to play the role of Geralt of Rivia in the popular series, The Witcher (2019-present), after Henry Cavill’s exit from the role. Fans have been largely divided about this personnel change, but that isn’t the least of Hemsworth’s worries: apparently, the role was at stake because of the claims made by his ex-wife.
Now, Hemsworth is suing Cyrus for defamation in her song, and for nearly costing him the lead role in the series. Cyrus’ alleged nod in the music video toward the rumored affair between Jennifer Lawrence and Hemsworth also did not help his case for the major Netflix role. As a result, he is now moving the courts against his former wife. How it pans out makes for interesting speculation as the two stars and exes face off in what seems to be a growing trend of Hollywood superstars trying to get back at their exes.
