Henry Cavill had given his everything while working on the set of The Witcher. From the first season itself, he had put so much effort into his role that it was no doubt as to how much the fans would come to love Geralt of Rivia. Although the third season will be his last appearance as the character, his dedication to the role has been one to take inspiration from.
The actor spent hours in hair and makeup to achieve the perfect look for the titular character and went above and beyond to make sure he was the one to get the role in the first place. His knowledge of the lore is no new news and so his portrayal of the character felt like that of a skilled actor and a dedicated fan combined.
Henry Cavill Worked Ungodly Hours To Keep Up With The Witcher’s Schedule
Henry Cavill revealed in an interview that in order to keep up with his schedule for The Witcher, the actor worked harder than he ever did for the role of Superman. Eleven-hour shifts did not make it ideal for him to have a life outside of a filming routine. The shooting would almost every day be stretched till overtime. When it came to gymming, the only two options he had were either visiting the gym at 3 in the morning or during peak rush hour right after work.
“For this one we had a limitation on time,” the actor continued. “When you are two hours in hair and makeup every morning, it’s an hour to travel to work and then you work an eleven-hour day which almost always goes overtime and then it’s an hour home.”
He confirmed that in order to try and hit the gym before bed, he would have to sacrifice any time for himself. This did lead to a beautiful first season and a successful second season following that.
Henry Cavill Wants Geralt’s Hair
Henry Cavill confirmed that the flowing locks of hair that Geralt of Rivia takes to his adventures would definitely be a must when his hair starts to turn white. Discipline was one of the most important things he had to keep in mind during filming. Not just The Witcher but, every other project as well. However, during the holiday season, he wouldn’t mind slacking off a little.
The actor has always worked extremely hard for whatever role is in front of him, no matter how big or small it may be. With his final season nearing, fans aren’t ready to bid him farewell just yet.
The Witcher’s third season will air on Netflix in the summer of 2023.
