British actor Henry Cavill has elevated himself as a Hollywood A-lister since taking up the role of Superman in the DCEU. Cavill then became a hot celebrity figure and the subject of the talk of many tabloids.
Superman was not the only role that kept the actor in the line of frontline stars, his roles in Mission: Impossible – Fallout and in the Netflix show The Witcher as the Geralt of Rivia deserve equal prominence. Cavill has also been in the talk for his physique as he maintains his shape to near perfection. Fans wonder about the secrets behind it.
Henry Cavill Debunked 3% Body Fat Rumor
Henry Cavill has mostly played roles of physical prowess. Even before Superman, the actor has played action-packed roles in fairly underrated The Man from U.N.C.L.E. or in Tarsem Singh’s action fantasy Immortals and a few others. Cavill’s transformation is also interesting, once being fat-shamed to building a muscular physique was quite a ride for the actor.
As far as the rumor goes, Cavill had only 3% body fat while playing the role of Superman. However, appearing in The Rich Eisen Show, the actor said that the 3% rumor is far from the truth. “I never took a body fat reading but I don’t think those are low 3%. That’s, that’s super low […] That’s false,” Cavill said.
“It’s like bodybuilders that’s like a for one, one performance bodybuilders you can’t hold that maybe you can but I like probably good.”
However, the actor admitted that he consumed 5000 calories a day for the role. “Yes, I was. When I was building 5,000 calories,” he said. The actor also revealed what he ate in preparation for his role as Superman, saying that he ate a lot.
“I can’t remember. That was many many years ago. Now, I was a Man of Steel but a lot of it in the post-workout shake you put coconut milk in there, and it, it makes everything it’s you can fit a day’s worth of calories into one shake.”
It appears that Cavill’s commitment to the role of Superman was commendable as he pushed himself to the transformation of the director’s vision.
When Henry Cavill Almost Missed Superman Role For Playing Video Game
Cavill was also in the buzz when he missed the call from Zack Snyder for the invitation to be cast as Superman. But the actor was too busy to pick up the phone as he was playing video games. There’s no secret that the actor is a huge fan of video games and given his liking, it is not impossible to miss out on a call, even from Snyder.
“Half true. Yes, I was playing, was Warcraft and the phone rang I didn’t look at it because I was doing something more important obviously and then I looked down at the last second and saw it said, Zack Snyder. And went for the phone and missed the call but at that stage that was him calling me to let me know I had the role. So, okay it wasn’t like if I didn’t answer the call I don’t get,” Cavill said.
Cavill has been an integral part of DC’s Snyderverse playing Superman, however, his exit from the studio was confirmed as the studio is looking for a fresh face for the role. But Cavill has his gigs lined up as well, he is set to appear in Guy Ritchie’s action war film The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, which is slated for a 2024 release. Also, the actor’s love for games has found a perfect role for him to play. Per reports, Cavill is to star in the live-action project of Warhammer for Amazon.
