Henry Cavill has worked hard to build his career and his current reputation in the Hollywood industry as a respectable actor in the big leagues. However, it was not without a lot of effort and passion that the actor made his way to the top. While it may have taken him a couple of years to do so, his hard work is paying off with his skyrocketing career.
When it comes to his life before being an actor, had not been the easiest. While still being as joyful and filled with healthy relationships with his younger brother and his mother, his schooling hadn’t been the smoothest experience for him. His discovery of theatre, however, completely changed that.
Henry Cavill’s Father Refused To Bring Him Back Home
Henry Cavill had a majority of his schooling done at St. Michael’s Preparatory School in Saint Saviour with his brother and the two have been extremely close to each other since they were children. He went to a boarding school after his father became a financial broker. The experience of the school had been rather difficult and stressful for the actor and he would often be seen calling his father and begging him to take Cavill back home. However, the Navy Official would deny the request without hesitation and told The Man from U.N.C.L.E actor that he had to stay no matter what.
The stress was becoming too much for the actor and his father had been persistent about the fact that no Officer’s family could have someone complain about their difficult school life. This led Cavill to stress eat often even though he was on the school rugby team. His eating led to him gaining chubby cheeks and the title of “fat Cavill” was entitled to him. Although it had gotten difficult for him, he too became stronger and stood through the torment before him.
Russell Crowe Became Henry Cavill’s Career Godfather
Henry Cavill’s discovery of theatre was a step towards a career he had not anticipated early on. When he first encountered the art of drama and acting, he was absolutely mesmerized by it and felt the rush of adrenaline take over him. He got his true motivation to pursue it as an actor when he first met Russell Crowe during Proof of Life’s shoot. The set was made on school grounds and Cavill would often be seen observing the scenes.
“Dear Henry, remember that even the longest journey begins with the first step.”
He got the opportunity to meet Crowe and tell him about his goals and aspirations. The actor sent Cavill a package days after their interaction with a postcard that made him sure about his career choice. The actor has since then considered Russell Crowe to be his career’s godfather. Luckily enough, only a year after, Cavill was offered a role in Count of Monte Cristo.
