During a recent event celebrating The Mandalorian, Jon Favreau revealed exciting news for Star Wars fans. Mandalorian Universe Expands with Season 4, Ahsoka, and Skeleton Crew: Crossovers Possible?

During the Empire VIP’s celebration of The Mandalorian, Jon Favreau revealed that The Mandalorian Season 4 has already been written, and that concept art for the season is already being worked on. Additionally, Favreau confirmed that both Ahsoka and Skeleton Crew are currently in post-production. While each show will largely be doing its own thing, there is still a possibility of character crossovers. However, it is too early to tell which characters from which shows will cross over into other shows as the Mandalorian sub-franchise moves forward.

The news has come to light via Seif Zaki, who attended Empire VIP’s celebration of The Mandalorian. The event featured Jon Favreau as a special guest.

It has already been confirmed by Jon Favreau that Skeleton Crew characters will not appear in The Mandalorian‘s upcoming third season, ruling out at least one potential combination for crossovers. It is also worth noting that while Skeleton Crew is set in the same timeframe as The Mandalorian, it is not a direct spinoff. On the other hand, Ahsoka is a direct spinoff of The Mandalorian and a sequel to the animated series Star Wars Rebels.

What’s Next for Jon Favreau’s Mandalorian Universe?

Lucasfilm’s small-screen Star Wars franchise has been building up to a crossover event, with The Mandalorian, Ahsoka, and Rangers of the New Republic originally planned as tent poles. However, Rangers of the New Republic has since been shelved, with its story ideas being folded into The Mandalorian itself.

Rosario Dawson‘s portrayal of Ahsoka Tano in The Mandalorian Season 2 was met with widespread praise from fans of the Star Wars franchise. Following her debut, it was announced that she would be starring in her spinoff limited series, titled Ahsoka. However, it has been reported that the series will take her beyond the reaches of the known Star Wars galaxy, raising questions about whether she will be able to return to The Mandalorian in time for Season 3.

Furthermore, with the possibility of crossovers between Ahsoka and Skeleton Crew, confirmed by Jon Favreau, it remains to be seen if these characters will bypass their mothership shows altogether and interact with each other. While this news may come as a surprise to some, it is not entirely unexpected given the popularity of crossover events in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

It will be interesting to see how Ahsoka’s character develops in her solo series and whether her storyline will eventually intersect with that of The Mandalorian or Skeleton Crew.

As for Skeleton Crew, the series is something of a wildcard in the Favreau-Verse, and little is currently known about its place in the Star Wars franchise. However, with the potential for character crossovers and the involvement of Jude Law as the series lead, there is no doubt that fans are eagerly anticipating its release on Disney+.
