Gwyneth Paltrow Opened Up About Her Split From Brad Pitt

After meeting on the set of the 1995 film Seven, Gwyneth Paltrow and Brad Pitt started dating and got engaged in 1996. The former couple did everything from matching hairstyles to a romantic getaway to Paris. However, things did not turn out in their favor, and they announced their separation in 1997.

Following their breakup, Pitt dropped out of the 2000 musical comedy, Duets, in which he was set to star alongside his ex. Despite their broken relationship, the couple has addressed each other on several occasions. And during a 2020 interview with Harper’s Bazar, the Goop founder shared that she went through a hard time after their split.

“I was only about maybe 24 or [25]. Brad Pitt and I had just broken up, and I had breakup, like, could not eat,” she said. “I was really skinny. It was sort of upsetting, but it’s a nice picture,” she further stated, talking about her 1997 Harper’s Bazaar cover.

Paltrow also revealed that her family and her father were devastated by their sudden decision to part ways. However, she has also claimed that she is still good friends with her ex-fiance and that there is no “bad blood” between them.

Gwyneth Paltrow Blames Herself For the Separation

During a recent conversation on the Call Her Daddy podcast, Gwyneth Paltrow shared that she fell in love with Pitt at first sight. And over the years, she never appeared to be blaming the Troy star for their breakup. The actress has also stated that Pitt was too good for her.

“I think I was a kid, and I wasn’t ready. He was too good for me,” she said before adding that she was too young and did not know what she was doing. The actress has also claimed that she has “f*cked up so many relationships,” including the one with the Fight Club star.

“It’s taken me a lot of, a lot of work to get to the place where I have a good romantic relationship,” the Iron Man star has been married to Brad Falchuk. The couple started dating in 2014 and got married in 2018 in the presence of their friends and family.
