During an episode of the American sitcom The Big Bang Theory, there were cameos by two of the iconic characters from the Star Wars franchise. Harrison Ford, however, refused to star in a cameo role for unknown reasons.

The lead characters of the American sitcom The Big Bang Theory have been known to idolize and worship Star Wars. Well, it was purely their luck that the late actress Carrie Fisher and James Earl Jones decided to give a cameo in Season 7, Episode 14 of the series titled The Convention Conundrum.

During the course of the episode, Carrie Fisher, who portrayed the role of Princess Leia, and James Earl Jones, who portrayed Darth Vader, gave their cameos alongside the lead cast of The Big Bang Theory. A notable actor that seemed to be missing was the iconic actor Harrison Ford, who portrayed the role of Han Solo in the franchise. The casting director of the show Nikki Valko stated that she would have loved it if Ford gave a cameo in the series but the actor was never open to consideration.

“We would have loved Harrison Ford, but that never got any traction. He just was not open to it.”

Although the reason was never disclosed, people alleged that Harrison Ford wasn’t comfortable meeting Carrie Fisher who he had an affair back when he was already married. In her autobiography, Carrie Fisher revealed the details of her affair with the Indiana Jones actor, and the matter has not been brought to life after their dating ended.

Harrison Ford was married to his then-wife Mary Marquardt from 1964 to 1979. During his initial casting as the iconic character of Han Solo in the Star Wars franchise, the actor had been gaining traction for quite some time.

The late actress Carrie Fisher revealed in her 2016 autobiography titled The Princess Diarist that she had a three-month-long affair with Harrison Ford during the shooting of Star Wars: A New Hope. The affair was broken off but no one seemed to notice at that time, not even their co-star Mark Hamill. The Blade Runner actor was already married to Mary Marquardt when he had an affair with Carrie Fisher but the subject was dismissed quietly following the years.
