Jeremy Renner was injured in the snow plowing accident. The actor is currently out of danger and is recovering from blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries, post multiple surgeries. The Mayor of Kingstown actor was airlifted to the hospital after being run over by a snow plow. Renner broke nearly 30 bones. He has constantly updated fans about his health through his social media channels.
Evangeline Lilly On Working With Jeremy Renner
Though Evangeline Lilly’s Wasp and Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye don’t have any major connection in the storyline. The two stars don’t have many scenes together in the MCU but the duo has impressed fans with their brilliant acting in the 2008 war-thriller movie, The Hurt Locker. In a recent interview, Lilly shared her experience of working with a talented individual like Renner and how she was impressed by Renner’s energy after visiting him post the accident.
“I was just at Jeremy’s house the other night, and he was in a wheelchair. And when we made that movie, he was so young, and he was full of verve, and I remember just being so impressed by him. What’s so ironic is at that point I was like the ‘celebrity cameo’ on some level because I was on Lost, and I was like, ‘Who’s this kid?’
Evangeline Lilly Shared About Her Interaction With Jeremy Renner After The Accident
The Lost star shared about her recent meeting with her beloved co-star after the unfortunate accident. Lilly shared that she was shocked to see Renner moving in a wheelchair and was expecting him on the bed. Evangeline Lilly imagined her meeting to be sobering, but in contrast, Renner as always was full of energy and enthusiasm.
“I walked in his house and got chicken skin, ‘cause I was like, ‘Why are you mobile? Why are you mobile? What’s happening?’ I expected to sit at his bedside and hold his hand while he moaned and groaned in pain and wasn’t able to move. He was wheeling himself around, laughing with his friends. It’s a miracle. It’s a straight-up miracle. He’s made of something really tough, that guy. You’ve always been able to see that in him, and he is recovering incredibly, and I’m so grateful.”
The Real Steel actress further added about the challenging experience that Renner has successfully passed. Lilly stressed the optimism that is always carried by Renner confidently. Lilly was happy and thankful that her friend made it through his difficult times.
“He’s made of something really tough, that guy, and you’ve always been able to see that in him. He had a near-death experience that was highly traumatic, and he was awake for the whole thing. It really has stuck with me. He’s got a journey to go through now. That’s what nightmares are made out of and he lived through it, and he’s on the other side now.”
The Hawkeye star is making recovery at his best. The actor shared that his physiotherapy has begun and has also teased fans about his upcoming Disney+ dream project, Rennervations. Lilly will be seen once again as Wasp and will kickstart phase 5 of the MCU with Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, which is all set to release on February 17, 2023.
