Academy Award-winning star Gwyneth Paltrow is considered one of the best actresses to ever work in Hollywood. Popular for starring as Pepper Potts in the MCU, she has also made as many headlines for her personal life as for her professional. Paltrow has been in relationships with some of the most eligible bachelors in the industry, including Brad Pitt, Ben Affleck, and Chris Martin. However, when it came to the Titanic star Leonardo DiCaprio, she was not captivated by his charm.
Paltrow opened up about her dating history and recalled the time she rejected DiCaprio’s advances after he made a move on her during an appearance on Call Her Daddy podcast.
Gwyneth Paltrow Turned Down Leonardo DiCaprio
Before she found the one in Brad Falchuk, Gwyneth Paltrow had dated several Hollywood stars. She had dated Ben Affleck, had been engaged to Brad Pitt, and was also married to the popular singer Chris Martin for over a decade.
And during an appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast, the actress opened up about her dating history and revealed that she turned down Leonardo DiCaprio’s advances. She revealed, “He [DiCaprio] tried back in the day.” But she was not interested in anything he had to offer.
“Nope, never made out with Leo,” the Goop founder stated before adding, “But he was already like, you know, he was very loose with the goods from when he was 19.” It is believed that the Shutter Island actor’s dating history was the reason the Sliding Doors star was not interested in being with him.
Although Paltrow did not reveal the time it happened, it is assumed that DiCaprio persuaded her at the 65th Annual National Board of Review of Motion Pictures Awards in 1994, as they were seen and photographed together during the event.

Gwyneth Paltrow Denied to Star Opposite Leonardo DiCaprio
Gwyneth Paltrow has starred in many hit films throughout her career. However, she missed out on what could have been one of the most popular and remarkable performances of her career. The actress was offered to star opposite Leonardo DiCaprio in the 1997 romantic drama Titanic.
However, she denied the offer, Kate Winslet fought so hard for, for the 1998 film Great Expectations. She believed that the 1997 film had great characters, however, “Titanic had a ship.” Reflecting on her decision, she said, “I look back at the choices I’ve made and think, Why the hell did I say yes to that? And no to that?”
Although she lost what could have been the biggest project of her career, the Seven actress shared that she learned a “universal lesson” from these types of decisions. The part of Rose eventually went to Kate Winslet, who wanted to portray the character since the moment she read the script.
