Actress Lisa Kudrow, best known as Phoebe Buffay from the popular sitcom FRIENDS, and late-night host Conan O’Brien, briefly dated for a period. The two celebrities first met at an improvisation class, and quickly became good friends who shared a common love for wit and humor. The camaraderie then turned into a brief romance, with Kudrow gushing about O’Brien, stating,

FRIENDS, which first aired in 1994, went on to become one of the biggest and most popular sitcoms of all time. It also made its cast, which included Jennifer Aniston and Lisa Kudrow, household names. While meeting Kudrow at a party, famous standup comedian and actor Jerry Seinfeld proudly took the credit for the stupendous success of FRIENDS saying that his iconic show Seinfeld was actually boosting the popularity of Kudrow’s show. The actor cheekily told Kudrow,

“You’re on after us in the summer, and you’re welcome.”

Seinfeld was alluding to the fact that FRIENDS gained its massive cult status mainly due to the fact that in 1995, the re-runs of Season 1 were aired directly after Season 6 re-runs of Seinfeld, which in turn garnered many more viewers than normal, owing to Jerry Seinfeld’s immense fan following. Kudrow was quick to concur with the veteran comedian’s observation and admitted that while FRIENDS Season 1 was brilliant, she was grateful to have the indirect support of Seinfeld.
