“He taught us a lesson”: Daniel Radcliffe Called Seth Rogen’s $126M Movie Script ‘Shi-ty’ Starring Harry Potter Co-Star Emma Watson

The movie that intrigued Emma Watson, was rejected by her Harry Potter co-star Daniel Radcliffe. Stone appeared in the 2013 star-studded film This is the End. The film consisted of many actors, and one of them could have been Radcliffe if he hadn’t rejected it in the first place.

However, the Harry Potter star has not regretted turning down the film, as unlike Stone, he didn’t like the script of the film.

Daniel Radcliffe rejected a star-studded film because he didn’t like the script

Daniel Radcliffe, popularly known for playing Harry Potter, once rejected a star-studded film because he wasn’t convinced by the script. Radcliffe was offered to be a part of the 2013 comedy film This is the End. However, when Radcliffe came across the script, he didn’t find it intriguing enough to be a part of it. Hence, he rejected it. During an interview, the director of the film, Evan Goldberg, revealed that Radcliffe was his first choice for the film. He said,

“Two years before we brought it to anybody else, we brought it to Daniel Radcliffe, and he rejected it because it was s***ty; it wasn’t good enough.”

However, Radciffe’s rejection of the script made Goldberg realize that the script was indeed falling short somewhere, hence he improved it. Goldberg admitted,

“It was a bad early version. He taught us a lesson. We learned something from him that day.”

With the help of Radcliffe, Goldberg revised the part that was lacking somewhere and made his script better, but somewhere he slightly regretted that Radcliffe wasn’t a part of the film. The director said,

“We got too excited; we jumped the gun on that. If we waited another year, I bet he would have done it.”

Upon its release, the film became both a critical and commercial success.

With the help of Radcliffe, Goldberg ended up improving the script of the film. Hence, Radcliffe’s rejection of the film worked in the movie’s favor. Though Goldberg couldn’t make Radcliffe a part of his film, he managed to convince some great actors in Hollywood to be a part of it. The film features Seth Rogen, James Franco, Jonah Hill, Emma Watson, Kevin Hart, and many more. 

The 2013 film is an American apocalyptic comedy horror film. In the film, celebrities are seen playing themselves, dealing with an apocalyptic crisis.
