It is not new to see some actors go a little too far for the sake of their roles. Sharon Stone too is no stranger to it. Some actors can immerse themselves a little too much in their on-screen characters. Whether it is method acting or otherwise, often enough their co-stars have to suffer around them. Stone has done quite a lot of movies that have helped her in getting a massive amount of fame.
The respect and reputation she has gotten throughout the years of her career have contributed to how big of an actress she is now. One particular incident not only shook her but, also left her co-star bleeding. However, it was his reaction that made her heart warmer in awe.
Sharon Stone Punched Ben Foster
Sharon Stone and Ben Foster were starring in Alpha Dog together alongside Justin Timberlake, the Late Anton Yelchin, and Bruce Willis. The movie focused on Yelchin’s character getting kidnapped and the events that transpired after that. Stone played his mother. Although the director, Nick Cassavetes expected the actress to go a little too far seeing the intensity of the role, he never expected what would happen in one particular scene.
“I was doing the scene, and he really came into me. He forced me to aggress him and he forced me to hit him. He just kept pushing me and pushing me and I just lost it. He made me hit him until it broke my heart. It was so awful and his nose started to bleed.”
One sequence required Stone’s character to punch Foster’s character and while she was leaning towards a soft hit that would barely be felt, the actor kept provoking her and pushed her more and more. This led her to punch him until his nose started to bleed.
Ben Foster Understood Sharon Stone’s Decision
Sharon Stone knew what she was doing was wrong. Ben Foster had been provoking her and forcing her to hit her to the extent where he started to bleed. The actress felt horrible and rushed to get him some ice for his newly forming wound. However, it was his reply that increased her respect for him by many folds.
“I just looked at him like, ‘What have you done?’ And I got him ice. He’s like, ‘Honey, it’s a movie. And what we’re doing is so much more important than that.’ I looked and I realized we are in this so deep. We’re so dedicated, and we’re so dedicated to this kid, and his parents, and what happened. I was just so moved by that.”
Foster pointed out how the movie captured some very interesting and unique emotions that could drive anyone over their limits. Stone confirmed that it was the connection they shared with the kid in the movie and his parents, seeing how much they had to muster up some of the most negative and sad feelings for the sake of it and how it was impacting both of them.
