In most of his films, Brad Pitt has typically portrayed the role of a charismatic gentleman. However, with films like Fight Club and Snatch, Pitt not only challenged his physical appearance but also took a swing into his versatility.
After witnessing, Guy Ritchie’ directorial work in Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels, Pitt was so impressed that he approached the director to cast him in his next project. Ritchie found a fitting role for Pitt in his film Snatch, that of a bare-knuckle boxer. Without any hesitation, Pitt accepted the role.
Pitt’s character demanded a strong physique, and to accomplish the feat, legendary boxing coach Joe Goossen was hired to help Pitt train for the role. During an interview, Goossen described how he helped Pitt to achieve a perfect physique for the role. The trainer said that to meet the demand of the role, he first discussed the film and Pitt’s role. Describing Pitt’s role, Goossen said,
“The character he was playing was supposed to be a one-punch knockout artist—a brawler with ungodly power in his right hand. One of the goals was to give him a right hand that looked really good—the kind that put you on the ground—and of course a strong jab to complement it.”
Goossen was indeed determined to train Pitt for the role, as he claimed that he wanted to make him a complete fighter.

“if he’d ever done sports or boxed in high school.” To Goossen’s surprise, Pitt denied any such experience. The coach said, “The way he’s put together, he looks like someone who’s been on a playing field or in a ring before.”
