Hollywood star Johnny Depp is known to be one of the most versatile actors with a maverick side to him. Apart from playing a bunch of quirky and memorable characters on screen, the Pirates of the Caribbean star has shown that music is in his genes as well. Depp is the guitarist of a rock band named Hollywood Vampires and consistently tours with them during his time outside of cinema.

The band which was on an extensive tour of the USA, has unfortunately hit a roadblock following a serious ankle injury to Johnny Depp, leading to the postponement of concerts in 3 cities of the US leg.

Johnny Depp’s Injury Halts His Rock Band Tour

Fans of Johnny Depp have been enjoying the actor’s multi-talented genius. The star regaled viewers with his skill as a guitarist as he toured the USA with his 4-member band, Hollywood Vampires. But their schedule has come to an indefinite halt after the Sleepy Hollow star sustained a serious ankle injury while promoting his film Jean Du Barry in Cannes. This has led to the band postponing their concerts in 3 American cities as Depp’s ankle fracture is yet to heal. The celebrity’s bandmates took to Instagram to release a statement that read,

“We are sad to share that the Hollywood Vampires will be rescheduling our three US tour dates this coming week. Johnny has sustained a painful injury to his ankle following his recent appearances and has been advised by his doctor not to travel. He is devastated by this turn of events, but looks forward to resting up so all four Vampires can bring their absolute best to the tour in Europe.”

Johnny Depp meanwhile, was photographed in Boston attending an event while walking with a cane. The actor looked to be in good spirits but it was evident that he was still in recovery mode from which he could take a while to heal.

How Did Johnny Depp Join Hollywood Vampires?

Audiences worldwide know Johnny Depp as a brilliant actor in Hollywood. But the star has proved that he has many other talents apart from acting by joining a rock band named Hollywood Vampires which has gained a lot of popularity in the USA. Depp’s journey into music was an organic one. His longtime friendship with guitarist Jeff Beck led the star to travel alongside him as a guest artist on a world tour. The Tourist actor showed that he had a lot of musicality which ultimately resulted in him discovering his talent with Hollywood Vampires.

At the invitation of Alice Cooper, Johnny Depp and Joe Perry joined the group and started working on covers of their favorite songs. This then led to trying their hand at original lyrics and music and ultimately, their first album. Depp’s superstardom as an actor and his flair for the guitar was instrumental in the band producing a second album after receiving good responses for their debut work.
