Reeves once suffered a horrendous motorcycle crash in Topanga Canyon, which resulted in a ruptured spleen. The actor had to undergo medical procedures to remove his ruptured spleen which left an obvious scar from his chest to his navel. Although, the scar served as an issue in his films and for his make-up artists during shirtless scenes, it never stopped Reeves from pursuing his passion any further.

I have a scar on my knee, a very small one.” Keanu Reeves recalled his accident. Discussing his whereabouts and how the accident happened, the actor stated, “I was on my motorcycle, and I got hit by a car on the corner of Hollywood and Normandie.” He further added, “The car was making a left, and I jumped from the motorcycle, just before the guy hit me. I did a somersault in the air and landed on the sidewalk on my back.”

The man, who eventually drove me to hospital, said to me: ‘You are in the air, and I think to myself, that boy – he is dead. Then you jumped up. I could not believe it.’” Keanu Reeves recalled.

However, despite such a horrific accident, the actor escaped with a small scar and a smile on his face. “As I was waiting for the ambulance, these two boys, about eight or nine, came by and they had big, wide eyes” Reeves recalled. He further added, “I looked up at them and said, ‘I flew, didn’t I?’ They went, ‘You were in the air, bro …‘ I was totally laughing. I totaled my bike.” Having the power to laugh even after such a scary accident, only shows his love for motorcycles in real life.
