Christopher Nolan‘s most anticipated film, Oppenheimer recently got released. The film consists of a star-studded cast, including Cillian Murphy, Robert Downey Jr., Emily Blunt, and Matt Damon. It’s really hard to believe that someone can hate the most comfortable footwear. In fact, Blunt was also shocked to know that Nolan doesn’t like them. The actress said,

“Christopher Nolan. I’ve never known anyone to detest a pair of Uggs more than Chris Nolan.”

Blunt went on to share that, Nolan is quite particular about certain things on the set and he always wants things to be according to him. She said,

“I’ve never known anyone to detest a pair of Uggs more than Chris Nolan. It’s a testament to how he wants everything on set to look as it would (in the period). If there’s a plastic bottle in the shot, he’s like, ‘Ugh!’ He hates to even look at it.”

Knowing that Nolan gets annoyed by Uggs, Blunt used to tease him by wearing it on the sets. The actress admitted,

“I would sometimes put on some Uggs and I’d just get this withering look down to my feet – it was like being in ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ again. Just the look down to the shoes. And I’d go, ‘I know, I know. But I’m just sitting on an apple box in the background today!'”

It’s not just Blunt who is fond of Uggs. Her co-star Matt Damon also finds them very comfortable, but unlike Blunt never wore them on set. Not everyone has the audacity to go against Nolan, however, Blunt seemingly shares a good bond with the director, hence she could dare to go against his rules.

Christopher Nolan hated Uggs until he was gifted one. Nolan criticized Blunt for wearing Uggs, however, when she gifted him a pair of shoes, he got converted and admitted that Uggs are indeed the most comfortable footwear. After the film got wrapped, Blunt gave Nolan the pair of Uggs and was appreciated by his wife for this idea. Blunt said,

His wife, Emma Thomas, wrote to me and was like, ‘Brilliant wrap gift. He’s wearing them now,’ “

Even Blunt was startled to realize that Nolan liked her gift and said that she was pleased that he did. Nolan himself thanked the actress for the gift. During an appearance on The View, the director admitted that he felt annoyed whenever he saw someone wearing Uggs. But his idea about them has certainly changed now as he too believes that Uggs are very comfortable.
