"He has a daughter my age": Elizabeth Olsen Was Not Happy About Her N*de Scene With Thanos Actor Josh Brolin in a Movie That Left Her Disturbed

Actress Elizabeth Olsen felt a strong connection to Josh Brolin, her co-star in the movie Old Boy during their on-screen romance. The younger sister of the Olsen Twins accepts that she was much more at ease than Brolin because she had a promise from filmmaker Spike Lee. Lee made sure Olsen was comfortable with the scenes.

Josh Brolin, who portrays a distressed guy seeking revenge, apparently required Elizabeth Olsen to get n*ked with him. She called the movie “very dark and very creepy,” and the movie clip clearly highlighted that.

Elizabeth Olsen Discusses S*x Scene In Oldboy

The younger Olsen Twin admits she felt more at ease than Brolin during the s*x scenes since director Spike Lee had promised she wouldn’t appear entirely n*de on camera. However, she acknowledges the s*x scenes must have been difficult for the Jonah Hex actor.

The Scarlet Witch actress may have felt at ease in the n*de and during the s*x scenes, but she couldn’t say the same for her co-star.

It was probably weirder for him than for me because he has a daughter my age, so I’m sure that was weird for both of them,” she said.

Olsen was only a few years older than her co-star Josh Brolin’s daughter, Eden Brolin, at the time of the release of Oldboy. She was 24 years old then.

Elizabeth Olsen Finds S*x Scenes ‘awkward’

In a 2015 interview with Net-a-Porter’s digital magazine, The Edit, Elizabeth Olsen talked about doing nude scenes in Oldboy and other films.

I love Kate Winslet and Cate Blanchett. I remember watching ‘Holy Smoke!’ and thinking that it was so reassuring to see a young Kate doing something that was so bold in so many ways,” Olsen said about the 1999 independent romantic comedy-drama film Holy Smoke!

I thought to myself, ‘OK, so it doesn’t destroy your career if you appear nude or take risks’ because not everyone in my family and group of friends thought it was the best idea to be naked in a movie.”

There are actresses, young and old, who have decided never to do that, and they become those examples people talk to you about, (but) there are times when I like to do it.”

“You want that voyeuristic quality, but I never feel I have to be nude – and you won’t ever see me in a beauty shot in a bikini on a beach. That’s a character I will never play,” she said.

It’s incredibly awkward. But you have to feel safe and you have to feel respected and you just provide that for each other. You create a safe environment. It’s like a dance in a way. You get it done,” she said.

While the Scarlet Witch actress hasn’t really gotten into n*dity throughout her time in the MCU, she has engaged in intimate scenes in a number of film roles, including Martha Marcy May Marlene and Oldboy. As per the actress, her body is just one of the tools in her repertoire to help her in creating a character. And for bringing real-life women to life on the small screen, such scene sometimes becomes essential, she said.
