The DC shakeup announced by James Gunn has had almost the entirety of the fandom burning the candle at both ends trying to reinstate the SnyderVerse. Meanwhile, the co-CEOs of the studio are busy wiping off every remaining speck of Zack Snyder’s influence on the brand-new DCU. In fact, fresh reports attesting to the same have emerged, claiming that the forthcoming DCU film, The Flash, is going to be wholly bereft of any SnyderVerse references whatsoever.
Looks like fans are in for yet another surprise.

Is DCU’s The Flash Decanonizing Zack Snyder’s Legacy?
Up until now, the DC fanbase had somehow managed to keep Zack Snyder’s glorious legacy intact through a string of pleas and petitions. But all good things are bound to come to an end, and little did fans know that SnyderVerse’s days were limited at DC Studios. But the prospect of its denouement seems to have been solidified with rumors about The Flash undergoing some last-minute changes to scrape off all SnyderVerse references that it contained.
According to Geeks Worldwide’s KC Walsh, the upcoming Andy Muschietti-helmed venture starring Ezra Miller is going to wipe out any and everything alluding to Zack Snyder’s Justice League and the SnyderVerse in general upon its release. Walsh also mentioned that “apparently [Barry Allen] never traveled back in time before and doesn’t remember meeting Iris ever,” further confirming the reported alterations in the movie.
Additionally, the official Twitter page for The Flash stated that “the minor vague references are still there” in the film, implying that the more prominent associations with the SnyderVerse won’t be included.
DC Bids Farewell to the SnyderVerse Once And For All
When James Gunn and Peter Safran were introduced as the new studio heads, their creative tweaks and transformations were initially welcomed by fans with enthusiasm. But that was before Gunn discarded Henry Cavill‘s fan-favorite Superman and put forth other such controversial changes through an exhaustive reformation of practically the entirety of the DC Universe.
Not to mention, people had been clutching onto the hope of being able to see the SnyderVerse back in action. What they seemingly failed to comprehend was that the Peacemaker director had been vigorously implementing all those changes with the sole intention of refurbishing the superhero franchise, which sadly enough meant cutting all ties with Zack Snyder‘s legacy. And it looks like the countdown for SnyderVerse has officially begun with its existence from The Flash getting erased.
