Chris Pratt is happily married to Katherine Schwarzenegger Pratt, the daughter of former governor and actor, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver. After beginning their relationship in June 2018, the two kept things quite fast-paced. Chris Pratt announced the engagement on January 13, 2019, and the pair officially became husband and wife on June 08, 2019, in an intimate ceremony.
Ever since then, their family has been growing as the couple welcomed two beautiful daughters into their life, one in 2020 and one in 2022. They sure look like a picture-perfect family! And if that isn’t enough, Chris Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger Pratt met in a classy yet adorable way – at the church. However, contrary to what some might think, Chris Pratt did not hit on Katherine Schwarzenegger Pratt at the church and she has now clarified it.
Did Chris Pratt Hit on His Wife at the Church?
During an interview with Drew Barrymore on The Drew Barrymore Show, the host brought up the topic of how Katherine Schwarzenegger Pratt and Chris Pratt met each other. Barrymore described Pratt as “The wonderful, my favourite human, absolute person who puts such goodness into the world.”
Schwarzenegger Pratt, surrounded by adorable puppies to go along with the adorable story, stated that it was true that the couple met at a shared church. However, she addressed the question that people have about how the relationship began at a church. Schwarzenegger Pratt stated that while the two had met at the church, Pratt didn’t make any “moves” on her in the holy place of worship.
“We met each other at church. It was very sweet, but he didn’t try and pick me up in church. Everybody’s always like, ‘How did that happen that you were in church? How’d that work?’”
Barrymore then asked Schwarzenegger Pratt how she and Pratt knew the moment they met that they would end up falling for each other and have a future. She also asked for advice about what she should be looking for to have a relationship like theirs. While Schwarzenegger Pratt didn’t answer the question, she did say that her mother, Maria Shriver, would love to find Barrymore someone. It was also once reported that her mom was the one to introduce the now happily married couple. Maybe Barrymore should take her up on the offer!
Faith Played a Huge Role in Chris Pratt’s Relationship
Talking to Extra, Pratt stated that while there were a lot of connections as well as “kismet” (which means destiny/fate) the two met each other at the church. A source told PEOPLE that family and spirituality are some things that mean a lot to both halves of the pair.
“They are very compatible and have a lot in common. Family is very important to both of them, as well as their spirituality.”
Not only do the Guardians of the Galaxy actor and his wife go along like peanut butter and jelly, but so do Schwarzenegger Pratt and Pratt’s son from his previous marriage with Anna Faris. Pratt once stated that he was riding solo one day as his wife and son, Jack, were back home tie-dyeing shirts. Looks like the perfect blended family!
