Christian Bale Dropped Out Of Playing Steve Jobs In a Biopic
Known for playing iconic characters in iconic films over the years, everyone is familiar with just how dynamic and versatile Christian Bale is when it comes to playing the roles of almost polar opposite characters in different films. This talent has given him many opportunities to become a part of many successful films over the years. But surprisingly, the star has made clear that he isn’t the type of actor who can play a character if he doesn’t connect to it or accurately portray it.

This was the case when the Batman Begins star was chosen to play the role of Steve Jobs, the visionary inventor that created Apple Inc, the first Trillion Dollar company in the world. The film also had Kate Winslet playing the role of Joanna Hoffman and Seth Rogen as co-founder Steve Wozniak. Bale was all set to play the character but after a lot of deliberate thinking, he decided to take his leave, saying that he wasn’t fit for the job. Aaron Sorkin, the writer of the film, said:
“We needed the best actor on the board in a certain age range and that’s Chris Bale, He didn’t have to audition. Well, there was a meeting. There isn’t a scene or a frame that he’s not in, there’s a tremendous amount of language. So it’s an extremely difficult part and he is gonna crush it.”
But after the Ford Vs Ferrari star opted out of the project, stars like Matt Damon and Ben Affleck were approached for the role. In the end, X-Men star Michael Fassbender was finalized to portray the co-founder of Apple, and the rest is history.

The story of Steve Jobs is filled with all the elements of a drama that one can hope for, but the story is written in a way that brings that sense of reality into the picture with attention to microscopic details everywhere. Michael Fassbender plays the titular inventor who had a vision of bringing a revolution in the world of technology through his offering of the Macintosh series of computers and laptops. The journey and the sacrifices that the founder took are all well-documented in the film.
