Sharon Stone is undeniably among the most popular actresses in the Hollywood industry. Not just because of her acting talent but also due to her strong will and determination which she didn’t falter despite facing highs and lows in her career. Kicking off her acting journey in the 1980s, she gained international recognition with 1992’s Basic Instinct.
After the controversial yet successful film, she gained superstardom and got associated with several projects with one involving Hollywood heartthrob, Robert De Niro.
Sharon Stone Held Robert De Niro in High Regards
Sharon Stone has worked with some of the greatest actors in the Hollywood industry and the list also includes Robert De Niro. The duo starred together in the 1995’s film Casino which is directed by the renowned filmmaker, Martin Scorsese.
The film is based on Nicholas Pileggi’s 1995 book, Casino: Love and Honor in Las Vegas where he played Ace, a mafia associate with the former playing his trophy wife, Ginger.
On her appearance at Watch What Happens Live, host Andy Cohen asked which of the leading men she has worked with was the best kisser, and without much hesitation, she named De Niro.
“Well, Robert De Niro was for sure the best kisser. Bob was far and away the best kisser.”
She continued that her kiss with the Taxi Driver star was special for her as she held him in high regard.
“I was just so madly in love with him as an actress to start with that he probably could have hit me in the head with a hammer and I would’ve been ‘Oh yeah!’
It is quite a big thing that De Niro is on her good list since she once opened up about having a difficult time working in the industry due to other male actors.
Sharon Stone Talked About Working With Other Male Actors
In an interview with Variety, Stone praised her Casino co-star for not being “misogynistic” while sharing her views on the other guys who are different from them.
“I’ve worked with some of the biggest stars in the business, who will literally talk through my close-up.” She told, “They’re so misogynistic – now, that is not Robert De Niro. That is not Joe Pesci, that is not those guys.”
She continued how “some really big stars” didn’t treat her well.
“They [male leading actors] just will not listen to me, and will not allow me to affect their performance with my performance. That’s not great acting. I mean, I get that you’re great and everybody thinks you’re wonderful. But listening, being present for those fractured moments, is really the human experience.”
She even talked that she was uncomfortable working with MCU star, Michael Douglas in her infamous 1992 film, Basic Instinct but De Niro was a gentleman who treated her well.
