Daemon Targaryen is Bisexual

Becoming one of HBO’s most important series, House of the Dragon has been hailed as a great successor to Game of Thrones. The series follows the story of House Targaryen, around 200 years before the events of the original show.

Targaryens and their sexual conflicts

Targaryens in the books and the shows are notorious for engaging in less than traditional aspects of relationships and sexual orientation. The first Targaryen to rule the seven kingdoms was Aegon Targaryen who had two sister-wifes, making many religious elements of Westeros outraged.

Furthermore, many of the Targaryens have been confirmed or rumored to be homosexuals or bisexuals including Rhaena Targaryen, Prince Daeron Targaryen, and Daenerys Targaryen in the books.

Is Daemon Targaryen Bisexual?

There have been few hints dropped across House of the Dragon, indicating Daemon Targaryen to be bisexual. One can be considered from episode 5 where the prince calls Laena Velaryon, his future wife, as pretty as her brother.

Furthermore, while having dinner with the Prince of Pentos, Daemon is seen grabbing a male servant and whispering something in his ear briefly. Though it’s possible that fans are just overreading these scenes, a deleted scene might prove otherwise.

After seeing the deleted scene from episode 6, many are convinced that Daemon is bisexual as he is seen sitting cozily with the servant that he spoke to before, whispering into each other ears while holding hands.

Laena’s interaction with Daemon also adds more to the theory as she refers to herself as not the wife that Daemon wanted while speaking to him. Since she dies by the end of the episode, we might see the prince provide bisexuality a much-needed representation in the upcoming episodes.
