Hayden Christensen To Return As Anakin Skywalker In ‘Ahsoka’ TV Show

Last December, it was revealed that actor Hayden Christensen will be returning as Anakin Skywalker in the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series alongside Ewan McGregor during the Walt Disney Investor Day meeting. Since then, fans have been waiting for the actor to make his return into the fold of the Galactic Empire as he transitions into Darth Vader after the memorable duel with Obi-Wan Kenobi. However, it is now being reported that Hayden Christensen will now be appearing in another Star Wars series that is expected to release next year.

Rosario Dawson, who will be starring as Ahsoka Tano in the upcoming Ahsoka series first made her appearance in the second season of The Mandalorian that blew away long-time fans of Star Wars. However, according to The Hollywood ReporterAhsoka will also include Hayden Christensen who will play the role of Anakin Skywalker aka Darth Vader in the series. Written by Dave Filoni and with both Jon Favreau and Filoni serving as producers for the show, the plot details of Ahsoka is being tightly kept under the wraps with the only confirmation of Lars Mikkelsen reprising his role as Grand Admiral Thrawn from Star Wars: Rebels alongside Aladdin star Mena Massoud as Ezra Bridger.

While it is surely exciting news to see Hayden Christensen in Ahsoka, the question arises how will they incorporate his character in the timeline? Ahsoka is set five years after the events of Return of the Jedi, similar to The Mandalorian which means that Darth Vader/Anakin Skywalker is dead at this point in time. Considering that Ahsoka Tano was Anakin Skywalker’s padawan before his transition to the dark side, Christensen might appear in a few flashback sequences. Else, the former Jedi can always appear as a Force Ghost to guide his prized padawan through dark times that lay ahead to defeat Grand Admiral Thrawn and save Ezra Bridger.
