Harrison Ford, the man known for portraying iconic characters such as Indiana Jones and Han Solo in classic franchises, does have some special attachments to his characters. With a difference in salaries and coming out of retirement for them, Ford has taken different amount of paychecks for different franchises.

The harrowing thing is that the difference in those said paychecks is massive! In reports, a difference of millions was seen when Harrison Ford starred in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and Star Wars: A New Hope, and both the paychecks are quite the opposite.

Harrison Ford Had Two Very Different Paychecks For His Roles!

The actor does love the characters that he proudly embodied for so many years. During the 1970s, Harrison Ford starred as the iconic character of Han Solo in the Star Wars franchise. According to reports, the actor was paid an amount of $10,000 for his portrayal of Han Solo in the 1977 movie Star Wars: A New Hope.

Although, at that time, the amount was quite a significant sum, Harrison Ford raked in the millions when he was forced to come out of retirement for his reprisal of Indian Jones. At that time, the actor had gone into a self-imposed semi-retirement. As per the reports, Paramount Pictures forced the actor to come out of said retirement… and they had to pay dearly for that.

Harrison Ford was paid a whopping $65 million for his role as Indiana Jones in the 2008 movie Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Due to him imposing a self-retirement, Paramount Pictures had to pay the actor that much amount of money for Indiana Jones 4. It was all worth it since Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull went on to earn $790 million worldwide at the global box office collections!

In an exclusive interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Ford got candid about Hollywood and his admiration and praise for fellow actors. The actor revealed that he has a deep admiration for the Top Gun actor Tom Cruise and their shared love for flying!

Between their talks, Ford hailed Tom Cruise as one of the finest and stated that the actor takes it to a whole new level when it comes to the world of death-defying stunts, especially… flying.

“Tom takes it to a whole new level that’s truly astounding.”

The actor is slated to appear in his upcoming classic franchise by starring in Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. The film is slated for a release date of 30th June 2023 in theaters across the world and will be Harrison Ford’s way of saying goodbye to a beloved classic character.
