In an interview, the Blade Runner actor revealed that the studio executives wanted a new and catchy name instead of Harrison Ford. The actor stated that they gave him a photo of Elvis Presley and was told to get this haircut from the studio barber. Well, Ford did not get the haircut and came up with a hilarious stage name.
“I’d been given a picture of Elvis Presley to take with me to the studio barber. [The studio said] ‘Get this haircut and come back with a name’. I said ‘Okay’. I didn’t get the haircut and I said my new name is Kurt Affair”.
After the laughter and the jokes subsided the actor continued,
“No, nothing did [work]. No, they threw me out…they let me go after a year and a half of a seven year contract”
Well, Harrison Ford quickly rose to fame with his iconic portrayal of Han Solo and Indiana Jones which put the actor’s name among the A-listers of the 80s. The actor has become so successful that the MCU decided to hire him in the role of Thunderbolt. Well, some actors did not like the casting.
Marvel Star Talks About Harrison Ford’s Casting in the MCU
Dermont Mulroy, who portrayed the role of President Ritson in Marvel’s Secret Invasion recently talked about the potential casting of Ford in his role. In an interview, Mulroy stated that it’s “bad news” if Ford’s character would become the next MCU president by replacing Mulroy.
“That’s bad news. That’s bad news. It’d be a thrill, of course. But if I have to lose the next election to one American and it happens to be Harrison Ford, I guess that’s fair enough. And that’s okay. Maybe I can run– There’s nothing about two terms. I could be his vice president, right?”
It has been indeed confirmed that Ford will portray the role of Thaddeus ‘Thunderbolt’ Ross in the upcoming Captain America: Brave New World and Thunderbolts. Both the movies are currently in various stages of development with a release date set in 2024.
