After Ford came out of his self-imposed retirement, the actor starred in the 2008 movie Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Having a significant gap in the Indiana Jones franchise, Ford’s iconic character was introduced to the new generation and once again found fame with other people.

In an interview, Harrison Ford sat down for a chat to talk about the first Indiana Jones movie, Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark. While talking about the 1981 movie, Harrison Ford revealed the reason why people love his character so much is that Indiana Jones doesn’t care for authority.

“One of the things that makes Indiana Jones attractive is his lack of respect for authority, always makes a good movie hero. He’s a bit of a…scoundrel from time to time but deep at his heart, he’s a good guy who does good things for people”

From his talks, it is evident that the Air Force One actor himself loves the character deeply like the people. In the interview, the Blade Runner actor further continued how humor played a vital role in establishing who Indiana Jones is.

During the course of the interview, Harrison Ford stated that humor was a vital part of who Indiana Jones is. Stating that Ford doesn’t like to be around people that do not have a sense of humor, the actor was glad that he found the medium to make people laugh through Indiana Jones.

“Humor’s a very important part of the nature of the character of Indiana Jones. I don’t like to be around somebody who doesn’t have a sense of humor so I look for moments of lightness to share with the audience and we had found a lot of those kinds of moments in the Indiana Jones series”

The actor is currently excited for people to see the latest film in the Indiana Jones franchise when Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny releases on 30th June 2023 in theaters across the U.S. As for the Indiana Jones franchise, it is available to stream on Disney+.
