When you are in the theatre watching an MCU movie, you never leave your seat till the last credit roll. The majestic post-credit scene which we all favor waiting for, the hint of the future of certain characters or enhancement of the plot, leaves an impact alongside the movie itself.
The first look at Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. is already out, and the hype is already around it. Marvel fans have reacted to the first look of the movie saying that it is a perfect end to the trilogy, calling it the best Marvel movie since Avengers: Endgame. The Guardians franchise is fun and distinct, comprising a family of misfits, exposing their emotions and their journey in space with action-packed sequences.
James Gunn Revealed Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 Post-Credits Scene Count
Ahead of its premiere, which is scheduled to release next month, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 director James Gunn just revealed the post-credit count of the last installment of the trilogy. Recently, Gunn posted a new picture of their “day off” in Paris on Instagram, when asked about the post-credit scene in the comment the director revealed there are two.
“There is not a post-credit scene. There are two,” Gunn said.
The Phase-5 MCU film follows another movie of the same phase, Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania which has two post-credit scenes. Notably, the original Guardians of the Galaxy film also had two post-credits scenes while the fans got to see five in the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special streaming on Disney+ had just one.
New Characters in the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3
The trailer of the third installment of the trilogy teases the introduction of new characters including Will Poulter as Adam Warlock and Chukwudi Iwuji as the High Evolutionary. Iwuji’s High Evolutionary will be the antagonist challenging the heroes of the film.
High Evolutionary is the creator of Rocket. He transforms lower life forms and enhances them into superior beings according to his own judgments.
“He is narcissistic, sociopathic, but very charming. I couldn’t have thought of a better character that uses [a] skill set better to join the MCU with. Because there’s something very Shakespearean about him, there’s something very emotionally dark about him, and he’s a lot of fun on top of all that,” Iwuji told Collider at San Diego Comic-Con last year.
The introduction of Adam Warlock in the film will create a corridor for the major character going forward in the Marvel multiverse.
What Can We Expect in Vol. 3?
The last installment will focus on Rocket Racoon (Bradley Cooper) as the character has a relationship with the worst nightmare High Evolutionary. As the trailer indicates, the movie is loaded with heavy comedy and rock ‘n roll. The romance between Star-Lord and Gamora is also expected to have quite a screentime. Also, reports indicate that the last installment could kill more than one major character.
Alongside the two new characters, the movie will feature the old characters- Peter Quill/Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Nebula (Karen Gillan), Mantis (Pom Klementieff), Drax (Dave Bautista), Kraglin Obfonteri (Sean Gunn) alongside Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel to voice Rocket and Groot, respectively. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is scheduled to be released on May 5, 2023.
