Walt Disney World’s Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind introduces the cast of Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy. Disney Parks shared a behind-the-scene clip on YouTube showing an inside look at Disney World’s newest rollercoaster production.
Wyatt Winter, the senior producer at Walt Disney Imagineering, said, “We are here on set filming. This is a massive project, and we had a big team of people over the years working on this.”
Star-Studded Cosmic Rewind
The said BTS video clip showed James Gunn, director of the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, and the entire cast which included Chris Pratt as Peter Quill/Star-Lord, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Sean Gunn as Kraglin, Dave Bautista as Drax the Destroyer, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Terry Crews as Centurion Tal Marik, Glenn Close as Nova-Prime Irani Rael, and stand-ins for Groot and Rocket.
Disney Parks Cosmic Rewind’s first look was exhibited in April this year before it finally opened in Disney World Florida. The team released a trailer featuring Star-Lord, Groot, and Rocket Raccoon getting a distress signal from the Nova Corp which led the Guardians to find their way toward Epcot and save the galaxy once again.
Cosmic Rewind is one of the biggest enclosed coasters and the first ride to feature a reverse launch. The villain on the ride is the Celestial Eson who also appeared in the 2014 Guardians of the Galaxy movie.
Disney describes the ride: “As part of the EPCOT transformation, strap in, get your game face on and crank up your mixtape as you twist, turn and blast through an awesome intergalactic chase.”
