To mark the occasion, the star took to Twitter to give his fans an update on how the year had been and also spoke candidly about his mental health, handling both positive negative opinions towards his profession, and his plans for the future.

Disney Star Dan Benson Completed One Year In Adult Entertainment

It is pretty common to hear of career switches in an entertainment industry like Hollywood with many actors, singers, and directors trying their hand at another professions. But Disney alum Dan Benson’s move to adult entertainment can be termed as one of the most radical career shifts. The Wizards of Waverly Place actor who co-starred with Selena Gomez, recently completed one year in the field and took to social media to speak candidly on the months gone by. Addressing his mental health, criticisms on his chosen path, and much more, Benson said,

“I expected a lot of hate honestly but people were like ‘Go you! Empowerment’ and that was awesome. Mental health wise, I feel good. I don’t feel bad about myself. I feel kind of like a badass a little bit.”

About drawing the line as an adult entertainer, Benson said that he took a policy to only perform and entertain based on his own comfort zone despite many people’s demands of him. This, according to the star, was instrumental in maintaining his dignity and reputation as a performer.

The former Disney star opened up about his radical career switch from being in Wizards of Waverly Place to becoming an adult entertainer and elaborated on the circumstances that led to his decision. After being humiliated by a bunch of his n*de pictures circulating on the internet thanks to his interactions with a group of fans, Benson decided to channel the insult and invasion of his privacy into something positive.

“It had a very big, negative impact on my life. Eventually, I decided to stop fighting against it and instead go the other direction and completely lean into it and build out a page. And instead of letting these people sell my privacy, my… you know what I mean, I decided to say, ‘Alright, screw you. I’m gonna sell it myself.'”

The Killing Diaz star had only positive things to say about his colleagues in the adult entertainment industry and complimented them for making him feel comfortable while also teaching him lessons that changed his life for the better.
